So, I'm probably the last one here to discover the site of this guy who apparently made 30 emulators for minor Japanese computer systems.

The problem is, of course, that none of these emus is of any use without the right BIOS files.
So, does anyone have the necessary BIOS files for ANY of these emulators?

Also, does anyone have any disk images for PC-100?
That system interests me most.
Especially a version of N100-BASIC or MS-DOS 2.11 would be nice. 8)

May I second the request for the BIOS files.

Thanks.

Some of them are available at retroroms: http://retro-roms.blogspot.com/
I have never head about these systems, though. :(

A longshot and it probably has no seeds, but maybe this torrent will help?

I uploaded the Bios for Mz2500 and Pasopia7 here:
http://www.load.to/rLw5oKrz1X/minor.rar

Not tested, includes at least one disk for each system to try.

Concerning others: Sordm5, Tomy Tutor and Mz700 were released in the west, and some games are in Tosec, I recall that the Tutor is supported by the Multi-emulator M.e.s.s. so a Bios package of that probably contains it.

I actually wrote the guy a while ago, asking if he could provide me with some information for releases(like a list for another minor system, the SMC-777: http://www.smc777.com/alllist.htm) or even *gasp* software. Free of course. Alas, I didn't get a reply.

Thank you Starscream. If anyone would mind re-uploading the file to another hosting service ( sendspace, sharebee or rapidshare.com ) I'd appreciate it, as this "load.to" just throws popups and some kind of sign-up message. ( Rapidshare.de is also useless to me ). Thanks.

Huh? Weird. A country restriction perhaps (I'd be interested if you can access this or rapidshare.de via a proxy like from proxy.org). I can just click away whatever popup comes up, then download.
Try this:

Thanks!
So far I think we have the BIOS files for PC-8201, MZ-2500 and Pasopia7. :D

I haven't had time to look for the M.e.s.s. BIOS packages yet, though.

The newest M.e.s.s files are usually up at Undergroundgamer.
I took a look at the Bios files of my older version, it contains the files for the 3 systems I mentioned above.
Of course I have no idea if they work with the other emulators made by takeda, so I'd appreciate any reports:

Oh, and from what I've read, it seems that recently FM7 support was added to M.e.s.s., and soon the Sharp X1 should follow. :)

I'm a bit late here.
Thanks for the uploads.
I think we now have BIOS files for PC-8201, SORD m5, Epson HC-40, Epson HC-80, Epson QC-10, MYCOMZ-80a, Sharp MZ-700, Sharp MZ-2500, PyuTa, Sharp X1-Twin, Pasopia7.

Not bad for such rare systems. :D

Hi, sorry for the thread necromancy but I'm a MESS developers and I wanted to say thank you for the PASOPIA7 bios. Thanks to Starscreamer's file, and to another set of BIOS for old Jpn computers which was floating in the web, current MESS 0.139 supports emulation for

Sony SMC-777 ( screens can be seen at http://mamedev.emulab.it/kale/ )
Toshiba PASOPIA7
Bandai RX-78
Mitsubishi Multi8
Casio PV2000
Hitachi Basic Master Level 3 and Basic Master Jr.
MYCOM Z-80A

(in addition to X68000, FM7 and the slowly improving support for X1, PC6001 & PC8801)

The sudden interest in these Japanese systems has lead to the appearance of a few files which I had never seen around before and which I uploaded to

http://www.sendspace.com/file/9o3ey8

The zipfile contains the RX78 BASIC cart, all current PV2000 dumps and all Tutor/Pyuuta cart dumps (in both cases "all" means "all the ones available to MESS devs"). Notice that the Tutor/Pyuuta files include the TOSEC carts but also a few more files which were not available before (to my knowledge): Turpin, Monster Inn and Frogger

Finally, a request: does anyone have additional software for the SMC-777, the PASOPIA, the RX78, the PV2000 or the Multi8? We would like to improve current emulation but it is impossible to progress on these machines without any software!

EDIT: actually, we would also be very interested to PC6001 carts, if any dumps exist, and in BIOS for machines like the PASOPIA5 or the SMC-70... but none of these seem to have appeared anywhere at anytime :(

Pc6001 cart dumps exist, albeit for the American version. I'm unaware of possible region incompatibilities. Anyway, they come packaged with the existing emulator:
http://www.multiupload.com/S7IKUJOHEM

If I'm going to make comments (e.g. possible corrections) about the softwarelists, is the M.e.s.s. forum the place to go?

very interesting: I didn't know about those dumps

about corrections to lists: either post the suggested corrections here (a separate thread or this one, or even through PM, as you like) or in the MESS forums, and I'll be happy to apply them :)

you might have noticed that the X1 software lists are mostly based on the files you posted in the X1 topic (including removal of PC88 versions of some games :) ), but for sure I might have introduced mistakes here and there, so that any help is really welcome!
