Hey guys,

Does anybody know how to get Cyberia working?

Basically I mount the game image using Daemon Tools, start Unz, mount an empty HD file and the game boots into TownsOS Version 2.1 Level 50 A.

You are now presented with a "CYBERIA --> HD" icon. I click this and then install the game to the default directory of CYBERIA:

After the file copying has completed the following is displayed:

I click OK and you are now back at the original "TownsOS Version 2.1 Level 50 A" screen...

I took a look at the HD file but you cannot see any files there:

I also booted using just the HD file (no game image mounted) and you can see the files there:

I'm not sure how to proceed... Help!!!

After installing Cyberia to the HD you should be back at the Towns OS desktop. If you open the HD folder where you installed it, you’ll noticed there’s no icons. Don’t worry the game was install correctly. All you need to do is make a shortcut.

Image

First double-click on the HD icon that has the newly installed Cyberia.

In my picture below I have installed Cyberia to drive letter [E:]

Image

The HD folder is open and looks empty, but really the files are hidden.

Now at the top, select the blue menu shown in the picture below.

Choose the last selection and a sub-menu will appears.

Then choose the first selection to create a shortcut.

Image

You should be here now.

Select the HD icon in the top-left corner of this window.

Image

Navigate to CYBERIA --> CYB.EXP

Double-click on CYB.EXP

Image

Setup the options exactly how it’s shown below.

Select the Okay.

Image

If you follow the instructions correctly you should have an icon called CYB.EXP within the HD folder.

Now double-click the new icon and you can start playing Cyberia.

Goodluck :D

rolins you are the man, thanks again for your kind assistance. Much appreciated :D

You know, I did play around with all the menus in Towns OS but couldn't figure out what to do... I thought that it must have something to do with running the CYB.EXP file from Towns OS but as you know I couldn't couldn't see anything on the HD...

One would have hoped that the install would have set this up automatically

How did you manage to work this out?

Thanks again :D

Your welcome. I do agree with you about auto-setup of icons after installing. It's a hair splitter trying to figure it out on your own, I would know. I found out about the shortcuts a couple months ago while trying to run Alltynex, which I have to say took me several weeks to get the game running. But I learnd alot from that experience. Seriously, while I was trying to get Alltynex installed I learned all I needed to know about formating/partitioning HD images, installing TOS v2.1 from cd-rom, and creating shortcuts. I'm not a guru at using TOS, but I know enough to get by.
