Maybe that guy didn't knew it. Try to merge your Marty roms with this file anyway and check the CRC.

I'm pretty sure you need it nevertheless when merging the ROMs to get the 4-MB ROM required by Xe. Too bad, I don't have a floppy disk drive for my Car Marty. Otherwise I would dump and upload the ROMs.

OK I talked with the author. I sent him my Marty roms, they are the same as his. He only filled the space taken by the F20 rom with... zeros ! So it's pretty easy to build the 4MB file, it worked on my system.

I also sent him my Car Marty roms, we made the same merge operation on the files, but the emu doesn't work... A bit more work will be necessary, but next version will have Car Marty support ;)

I tried the emulator with other systems too (neogeo CD etc), and it rocks ! Too bad the interface is not very user-friendly. But I'm still talking to the guy by mail, so I'll tell him about that too.

Neo Geo CD BIOS seems to be another one being hoarded (the one you can find in the net is a CDZ one and Xe manual says they are different).

Anyone wanting my roms just ask.

Maybe it's time to share them? Otherwise, I'm pretty sure they will be hoarded for ages (until Marty will be added to the MESS).

The author had a hard time figuring out, but he finally made the Car Marty rom work ! The problem was that some initializing code was written in a 16bit way, and the console is in 32bit ! So one address it tried to reach was out of the range... This happened when no floppy drive was hooked, but it was fixed. He also made the CD-ROM drive work, so I believe the emu is almost complete now.

Xe author is a bit crazy about making his emulator console-only, had some conversations with him before. Even if Car Marty would be added into Xe, it will be eventually removed as it's a car navigator (looks like even not for TVs). Guess, Xe author misunderstood something about it.

That's not true. The base kit didn't even include the hardware or software for navigation, you had to buy the additional navigation kit. And there was a home kit as well, which included a power supply and an A/V cable to connect it to a standard TV. Ever wondered why the Car Marty has a hinged handle? That's for carrying it around between your car and your home. The idea was that when you come back from work, you would take the Car Marty out of the car and connect it to your TV and use it to play games, multimedia stuff, etc.

Any photos? assembler.roarvgm has photos of the car kit only.

Yes, somewhere I have one. But it's just an ordinary power supply and the A/V cable with standard RCA connectors. Nothing interesting to look at.
