I've read on HG101 that the 88 version of XZR / Exile is unwinnable because a key item is impossible to find. Is that true?

I helped out a little on that HG101 article, and I got completely stuck partway through the game. I was following a Japanese walkthrough, but I couldn't find a particular item to advance the game. The walkthrough said where to use the item, but not where the item was located. I looked EVERYWHERE

The walkthrough was actually for the MSX2 version, but I think the versions are identical aside from graphics.

Anyway, I doubt the game is totally unwinnable, I probably just overlooked something. I'm going to try again sometime, because XZR is a pretty cool game.

What didn't you find?
I was able to finish this game many years ago,
and I can tell you that you may never get some items
after you clear the stage where you have to get it.
Why not starting a new game?

Accoding to the HG101 article of XZR, it seems to be difficult to find "Alembic" at Faros Isle.

At the lower left of Pan the goat god, there is a cave where you can get "Alembic".

XZR for PC88 is never unwinnable, so please don't worry!

You would have to have been crazy to think one of the biggest companies at the time would release the game on the most popular computer at the time with a game breaking bug like that, at least without having a fix of some sort.
