I'm transcribing Yuzo Koshiro's interview and he mentions something I can't find mention of online.

He was part of a doujin circle called Harvest. They created doujin games for the 100 Yen Disk series (100円ディスク ).

Mr Koshiro created a game which sounds like GRAMAMBI - I'm guessing katakana would be グラマンビー

He said he programmed it, and that it was a cross between Twinbee (ツインビー) and Gradius (グラディウス). Hence the name.

I've google trawled and can find nothing on such a game for the PC-88 or 100 Yen Disks. Either it's unknown, or I've got the katakana wrong.

Unfortunately I cannot email him for confirmation, because my coordinator sabotaged my project by emailing every interviewee and telling them not to support the project any more. Mr Koshiro hasn't returned any emails since then.

Any idea of the game? Has anyone come across it? I would love to have a single screenshot to illustrate his chapter.

WOW!!

That was fast! Incredible. Yes, that definitely must be it. I'm on my work computer, but I will try it out later to see what the game itself is about.

Fantastic Peter. Thank you very much!

As an interesting aside, the other game he spoke about was Variant 7, which I have some video footage and screens of. It's a vertical shmup.

It was a great interview.

Thank you!

Fascinating! He was nervous about some copyrighted music which played in the later portion. I might try to reach that part. Though it is quite a difficult game.
