Nice find.........but I kinda already figured that out.
Many people at the time, would prodigy many things from popular culture/current events/and history. Like in the "Dirty Pair" a scene where a muscle bound, Indian fromer 3WA agent charged at the duo, but instead flew out the window. That scene in particular, was taken from "Mcgyver" The moment I saw that scene, I said Mcgyver.
"Indian Jones" also made many appearances, as well as "Girl Boss". Of course South Park was mentioned in Panzer Dragon: Zewi
Lufia II, and Final Fantasy Adventure for the SNES, also featured music that was popular at the time. Another example is how an SNES shooter replaced the music from that sports theme music during the 1990's.

Of course this is part of the reason why it was so easy to get into videogames, comics, or even animation. You could borrow as you wish, because whatever the output was something that was original.
Nowadays when you make something, the problem is with organization, and dedication. Then their is distractions along the way. To think, if this was 1979, some things would be alot more simplier then others.
