So, I want to look through old American computer mags for old game reviews, but I'm not sure where to start. There's one game from 1989 that I'm trying to find reviews/information for(Psychic War, PC88 game that got ported to MS-DOS) from that year. I don't know which mags I should be looking for, or anyplace to look at old computer mags for free. Since other people here are fairly knowledgeable about the topic, I think this is a good place to ask.

Psychic War is mentioned a few times in Computer Gaming World, but not reviewed it seems.
According to the index search, issues 56, 67 and 72 contain some information.

You can get the issues here

Alternatively, you may look for the later issues of "Compute!", maybe it's reviewed there, I have only checked some of the early 80's issues.

You could also try and see what's up at Undergroundgamer. Most of it probably doesn't fit the specific profile (late 80s, US based, multiformat or PC-focused), but maybe you're lucky.

I don't suppose any of those sites happen to list Commodore magazines, by chance? I made the mistake of tossing the ones I had when I sold my old 128D. Sniff.

Thanks for the links. I haven't found out much yet, but these sites are exactly what I'm looking for.

For those who care, here's a link with a generous sample of what I'd been looking for.
