Maybe a bit too modern, but could be of interest:

From what I can make out ( might be wrong as usual LOL ) there is a fair crapload of Japanese Windows freeware/shareware games on the Ring Project, which would be worth mirroring/copying if the Archive has not done so already:

http://ring.u-toyama.ac.jp/ring/softlib ... html.en#pc
http://ring.u-toyama.ac.jp/archives/pc/freem/

So I (finally) got all the freem stuff up after some adventures with incomplete file uploads:

http://archive.org/details/freem-rpg-2012-06-11
http://archive.org/details/freem-others-2012-06-11

Of course right after I grabbed it all they changed their entire directory structure so it's going to be a pain in the ass trying to do incremental updates....

I've also upped some episodes of the 1980s TV series Pasokon Sunday:

I have started linking to some of these Internet Archive magazines since they are not very easy to find in the vastness of the site. I also made new PDFs of the Super Soft magazines at a bit better quality.

It looks like the TOSEC sets are going up on the Internet Archive ( in case you missed it, like I did! ):

At long last - all the TOSEC sets in one place, ready to be downloaded. Thanks for this great info!

Is there some kind of description for the games in the FREEM archive?

The best I found was this, and that's just an index:

http://ring.u-toyama.ac.jp/archives/pc/freem/

Not sure I have the fortitude to sort through 8+ GB of Japanese freeware...

Not Japanese, but might be of interest to the retroheads here - The DOS Memories project - 2400 DOS games:

Thanks, but that set on archive.org is not my doing - I just found it there and posted the link - quite surprised actually!

Downloading it right now. I'm going to check if there's any new content as soon as possible and will report the results.
