Thanks for creating the pack, this is an excellent starter set.

Do you happen to know if a proper rom dump for Epoch Super Cassette Vision has ever been shared? The one on MESS (included on your pack) is a bad dump and it seems some games don't work due to it.
Apparently Toshiya Takeda has a good dump of it, since I saw screenshots of some games running on his emu that otherwise shouldn't, but I'm not sure if he ever shared it.

Toshiya Takeda is not going to jeopardize his emulation project by handing out copyrighted roms, so don't bother him about it.
Rumor is that he will try to negotiate with the manufacturers for the legal release of system roms like what happened with the X68000, but I'm not very hopeful.

Are you sure that the problem is with the bios.rom? The emulator also requires cart images to have a header - see scv.txt.

I don´t know what is brolly talking about.
MESS use exactly the same BIOS (same checksum) dump like the eSCV emulator.
98% of the dumped cartridges are running well with the MESS driver.

For further questions I suggest to visit the official MESS forum.

I doubt most of the companies will allow legal distribution of the roms as well. I'm just going from what I've read in some forums that the MESS bios dump is a bad dump, you actually get that notice when running that driver on MESS. I don't know if it's referring to the bios or some of the actual games though.

I think MESS roms already have the headers(?), the following games don't work on both MESS and escv:
Dragon Slayer
Mappy (seems like timing issues, runs way too fast)
Pole Position II
Professional Wrestling
Shogi Nyuumon

Anna, you're telling me these work? Because if 98% of the games are working on MESS they should :)
Maybe I'm just missing something.

EDIT: I was just checking and even though I couldn't find the info on MESS site since most of the stuff is gone after the crash, if you check the scv bios info under MESSUI here's what you get:
scv : epochtv.chr (1024 bytes) - NEEDS REDUMP
epochtv.chr / 1024 / db521533 (baddump)

So I was definitely right on what I was saying. Still, if there's any way to play the above games on MESS please let me know.

Not too sure if it's just me, but I seem to be getting a load of errors with the archive? :/ Particularly with extracting the PC9821As folder.

I redownloaded from both sources, and everything is OK here. Using 7-zip 9.20 to compress/decompress.

Please check whether the archive is intact.

Seems like my Winrar just didn't like it. 7zip is fine. Thanks!

It may be because of LZMA2, which became the new default in 7-zip recently.
You should be okay with WinRAR 3.91 or higher.

Copy that - WinRAR 4.20 extracts everything without any problems.
