Anyone have disk images for this? Its so hard to find images for fm7 stuff.

The game looks much more awesome than the shitty msx version http://www.retropc.net/fm-7/museum/soft ... 00400.html

Oh didnt realise a pack was upload there, thanks. Indeed the game is in it.

Also, anyone know what on earth the XFER key is when using the XM7 emulator? Apparantly its the key for opening doors in the game, but I have gone in front of a door and tried every single key and nothing works. Anyone know what to do?

:?
XFER is a PC98 key. FM7 didn't have a XFER key.

In any case, it depends on which keyboard map you have selected in XM7 (Tools->Settings->Keyboard). Not every key is assigned by default, esp. with the English 101-key map. But you can assign the keys to whatever you want.

Indeed, whoever wrote the text file was tripping out.

Got it working, had to set 'space left and space right' keys whatever they are, and they turned out to act as the open door button.

Ah, the uploader who wrote the text file must have been emulating the FM7 on a PC98 then.

Another question, how can I get Death Force working in XM7, when i pass the intro I just get a black screen. This is making me go insane because I know on an older version of XM7 about 2 years ago I had the game working.

If the the game (Death Force) freeze on the intro you have to adjust the number of the CPU execution cycles on the XM7 emulator.
The easiest way is to edit the .ini file.
Try following settings (.ini):

CycleSteal=1
MainSpeed=1794
MMRSpeed=1565
FastMMRSpeed=2016
SubSpeed=2000

You need also a User disk (Drive1).

Those are the settings I currently have.

Maybe there is something wrong with my user disk, how can I create a blank d77 file?

You can create a blank disk with the emulator.
Tools > Create New Disk ...

Here a DL for you.

Mount DeathForce 0.d77 on Drive0.
Mount DeathForce User.d77 on Drive1.

A few months ago I got stuck in a part of the game where you have to defeat a giant dragon. Anybody knows what to do? I attack the dragon for a long time but it not die. It seems inmortal. Maybe I need a special item? >.<

I'm playing Deep Forest again, and I'm stuck on the Chinese dragon too. Frustrating thing is the site that used to have a full walkthrough on the game with pictures (http://retroblues.sakura.ne.jp/) has been down for like 6 months now, dammit!

Also anyone know why buttons 1 and 2 on the keyboard automatically warp you to the next or previous stage? Is this some cheat hacked into the disc images? Usually to proceed to the next stage you have to find the Warp Ball in a stage and then use it.

Figured out you have to get the 'holy ball' hidden in the dungeon after the dragon and then give it to him.

HOWEVER, I am convinced the disc images available for Deep Forest are broken. Pressing 1 and 2 to switch through the stages is something I seriously doubt was on the original game, but most importantly it seems getting chests does nothing. In stage 1 you find some useful strength items in bags, however in stages 2 there are chests which I guess are supposed to give you more strength and jumping power, however they all do absolutely nothing. Progress after stage 2 becomes incredibly difficult because without more jumping power you keep getting stuck in certain holes. Using the mantle item that lets you fly a bit can let you still reach stage 3, but by that point your severely underpowered against the enemies and there are even more unreachable areas because your jump power is too low.

Does someone else want to check to see if they think its a problem with the discs too? And does anyone think that proper clean disc images are out there?
