XM6i is a fork of XM6 that replaces the 68000 emulation core Starscream for MUSASHI, supporting 68030 I believe. Also the GUI is based on wxWidgets rather than microsoft foundation class.

The site is http://xm6i.org/.

Thanks for the link, will give it a go after the mandatory festivities :)

[Edit] Unfortunately, the program crashes at run time on my setup (Win7 x64).

New version is out, XM6i 0.21

Kaminari: that sucks, it's a shame that a lot of apps don't work correctly on 64bit enviroments..

This version seems to work :)

The new 68030 core runs decently, but as usual with X68000 emulators, this one is still sorely lacking in the graphics configuration. Overall, I still prefer XM6 Type G.

I have to say I've met surprisingly few problems in switching from WinXP-32 to Win7-64 (as long as you can find 64-bit drivers for your pieces of hardware). On the exact same machine, everything's faster and more responsive, without eating much more RAM. The installation is a different matter: 20 GB instead of 2, ouch.

New version is out: XM6i 0.30.

It seems the emulator has been completely rewritten. The speed is extremely slow on my setup. 68030 support doesn't work anymore (the emu complains about a missing ROM30.DAT).

It is working, even you have the real dumped ROM30.DAT or not.
NetBSD is running which need a 68030 CPU with MMU and FPU support.
What are your settings ?

I'm using the default settings for 68030.

When I start the X68030 profile, the emu complains about ROM30.DAT missing and asks me if I want to continue. When I click OK, the emu quits. (This is on Win7-64.)

X68000 Expert and Super modes work, but extremely slowly (less than 1 fps).

I need more details about your settings.
If you create a new profile, the settings will be saved in a .xmx file.
Also a .ini file will be created in your Documents and Settings folder.

The .ini file is the info for XM6i to find the actual settings (.xml)
Show me your .xmx content and tell me the available ROMs.

Here a screenshot with running NetBSD 5.1 (1GB Harddisk image) by using the command:
# sysctl -a | grep -i cpu | less

Image

You see, the 68030 was detected.

You can not compare XM6i with XM6, XM6 Type G or Type P.
The target of XM6i is to run NetBSD/x68k and other features like the sound support has a lower priority.
