Post subject:  Sharp X1 Uploads

Alright, we had some discussion a while back initially initated by the Kagirinaki Tatakai/ Hover attack story. I figured we could use a general thread dedicated to this computer, and I'm going to spread some games (well, all I currently have and intend to keep actually).

First up some general info about it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharp_X1
http://www.old-computers.com/museum/com ... c=313&st=1
(first X1 model , check the other entries if you're interested)

Aside from the PC, there are probably also emulators for Pocket PC machines (also for Sharp Zaurus I believe).

Edit: Down, see new set at
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=332&p=10960#p10960

Great post!

I'll look into the problematic ones when I have some time. That means, Freak time!
EDIT: turboZII did check the problematic ones before me.

Hmm.. maybe sub-forums? Just a thought.

Yep, that's the same game as Boukenshatachi - Kenja no Yuigon (冒険者達 - 賢者の遺言)

白薔薇連続殺人事件
Shirobara Renzoku Satsujin Jiken

Roughly translates to 'The white rose serial murder case'. An adventure game made by Riverhill soft. Was also released for PC88 and FM7 back in 1984.

The game is often written as 白バラ連続殺人事件. It's the same meaning and pronounciation.

Special thanks from bottom of my heart, for your great post!!
X1 is a part of my life.

BTW, the image of "Shirobara...(白バラ...)" that you uploaded is for PC88 :)
I tried it on M88 (one of PC88 emulators) and it was succesful.
I think there was no version for X1...
Anyway, thanks again for a good old game!

I checked some images in "Problems" folder on Xmillenium T-Tune STEP 1.43 + ika Tune.

The curse of mars (Control problem):
I coudn't find any problems. Use 2,4,6,8,z,x keys.

Ys II (messed up booting):
It seems OK. Set "IPL-ROM" turbo or turboZ, and boot with YS2_P.D88.

Dialide (how to start):
It's only for joystick, then set "Device" on "JoyKey-1".

Wizardry 1-3 (unknown boot):
They are for PC88.

Right. The problem was with my X key and not the game >_<

Must be my fault, I encountered some kind of graphic error, probably inserted the wrong disk or something like that.

Ah, good to know.

Is a special boot procedure needed for them? I tried to boot those with Pc88win, and I got nothing there. Then again, I need to get familiar with PC88 emulation, too, no idea about the various modes (v1/v2) for example. I discovered a PC88 image (Master of Monsters before) in the X1 stash, but that auto-booted fine for me.
Many thanks turboZII.

I also made a mistake in the initial post concerning the needed ids (thanks Trickless for your help).
This 新竹取物語 is the one which was supposedly published by crossmedia.

PC88Win is a very old emulator which often fails to run images.
Try M88 or X88000.

Folks, here's a little addition which I guess is somewhat wanted out there:

Super Mario Bros Special

Thank you for sharing this, Starscream.
I gave it a try, and the game doesn't disappoint : it is almost as much of a massacre as the PC-88 one :D

Breathing some life in this,
here's a small update, this includes:

- Wizardry 1-4 (this time for real)
- Darkstorm Demon Crystal III
- Spy Vs Spy (rather bad port I think)
- Galaga
- The Screamer
- Psy-o-Blade (turbo)
- Toypop
- Victorous Nine
- Aoi Ookami to shiroki (the very first Genghis Khan game - turbo-only)
- Byakuya Monogatari (see also the Tokugawa list - this one comes with the manual!)

- finally, Super Mario Special is included again

get it via

Thanks. I didn't know that another versions of the screamer existed. Beware that only the megaupload links have survived...

Just got into X1 recently but haven't seen any really good exclusives for the format, Daiva probably being the only one.....

Anyone have any recommendations on exclusives or ports that are better on X1 like Super Laydock?

I think Brainbreaker, Euphory and possibly Darkstorm - Demon Crystal III are exclusives. I'm not sure about the latter, because the prequels were widely ported.
