FYI, today MESS 0.142 has been released and it features a much better Sharp X1 (+ X1Turbo) emulation

some snapshots by Kale can be seen at his page: http://mamedev.emulab.it/kale/?p=1397

Don't suppose anyone has a copy of No.1ゴルフ (No.1 Golf ) by enix ? Or possibly even screenshots of it?

I've not tried it out yet, but judging from the name that looks like Hudson's ゴルフ狂 (Golf Kyo)

Thanks anyway

Can anyone upload again some of the older X1 software packs?, all of them are outdated now :(

I'm looking for TAP images and specially Hu-BASIC CZ-8CB01 TAP file. I'm restoring a nice X1CS and I want to load an OS to properly test the keyboard :)

Thanks in advance!

Tapes:
http://directmirror.com/files/FQVOHGHL

Utility folder, includes OS:
http://directmirror.com/files/11SXGDVA

Those tapes were originally by Danjuro, should also include some which were never included in my own upload (e.g. Hydlide).
I'm trying to re-organize my own set, adding all the new stuff I have in, and then edit the first post at some point.
If you're looking for a specific game listed here:
http://www49.atwiki.jp/retropc/pages/14.html

give me a shout.

Great, thanks!.

I'm not specially looking for games but for tape version of Hu-BASIC (CZ-8CB01 v1.0). I've seen it in the OS folder; but seems it's a disk conversion, not a real .TAP file :(
If I can find the way how are archived the binaries in a disk (start address, end address & execution addresss), I can try to save it from disk back to tape.

Recently I've recompiled TAP tools like tap2wav or pwmcnv (wav2tap) for a Windows architecture (X64), I can add them to your repository if you want...

RepoMan, how do you convert Sharp X1 .tap files to .wav? I want to load tape games (from real cassettes) in my X1 Turbo Z. I have tried "TapWAV 2.5d", but it send me an error when trying to convert any file: "This program only support TAP version 1."

Suposedly using TAP2WAV (you can found it here; but I say suposedly because I haven't loaded sucessfully a converted TAP yet.
IIRC the source must be adapted not only to my X64 OS; but also to parse correctly the format of TAP files (seems that there're two different formats, namedly "old" and "T-Tune" formats) as this tool only works with old TAP files and most of the TAP files available are T-Tune ones.

I'll keep trying recording the WAV to a real tape. As for now, I've been trying with a tape car adapter and the X1 loading mechanism is too nitpicking to this kind of tricks :x. Moreover, the keyboard repair is painfully slow, near of one hundred keys have been desoldered and cleaned disassembling each one

Let me know if you're interested in the tools, anyway I'll keep you informed... :)

I converted some games to .wav (only some can be converted without error), and then I corrected the Hz with "Cool Edit 2000", but I don't know if they work because I don't have either the cable and the datassette needed for the X1.
RepoMan, try to record this on a tape to verify if it works (The game is "Macross"): http://www.directmirror.com/files/JLJSBNLH

P.D.: You have a PM.

Answered :)

Until now, the keyboard is still unassembled; but I hope that it'll be ready soon.

Macross?, hehe, I already have this original X1 tape game  . I'll check the WAV.
