I was given this magazine to help with my research. It's a gold mine of cool adverts, stuff like the Takeru Vending Machine, and a whirlwind tour of Japanese game studios circa 1986. It's also got a lot of photos from inside their offices, which I find especially cool.

Enjoy!

Thanks John, what a great feature!

That sneak peak into the prototype of "brand new action game" Valis put a nostalgic smile on my face. And the fact that the Hudson article never mentions the PC Engine (mere months prior to its release) shows how unexpected and tumultuous the rise of the 16-bit console era must have been for all those PC developers.

I ended up with a big stack of magazines, at least 15, from 1983 up until the Saturn era, covering computers and consoles. And that Comptiq issue was the best.

Apparently the January issue of magazines often has those tours of dev studios, so it's worth keeping an eye out.
