I am wondering if its possible to browse the files on a x68000 game disk image to find and look at the various data assets like graphics and such? There are some games where I would love to see if there are unused art assets and whatnot on the disks, but I have no idea if its even possible to access or find this content on the disks.

Editdisk and Vfic should allow you to extract the raw files, but finding something usable in there is black magic for me. :|

If you want to check files for bitmaps you could try YY-CHR:

Thanks for the program wushu!

Doesn't appear to work for x68000 game files though. I took a bunch of files off x68 disks with the edit disk program and tried to open them in YY-CHR but they all just show random garbled pixels.

Software like DataMiner, DiskDisgger, RessourceExtract, ResThief work decently with windows based games, but I seriously doubt you can get anything from X68K files. Did you try Susie ?

No idea what susie is, but I tried a program called Tile Molestor which supports x68000 xdf images. I still only got garbled stuff instead of proper graphics though.

Susie is a program used to extract eroge pictures, there are tons of plugins to extract CG from specific games. Perhaps someone coded something for X68000 games ...

Where can i get editdisk?. I downloaded an application called diskexplorer, that supposed to read x68000 disks, but i cannot open any .xdf file.
Can anyone point me to a proper tool?

Win32application "Virtual Floppy Image converter" can pick up the contained files from the .xdf(x68000 format) disk.
Do not forget to choose "File Output" option.

You can download it (get the latest Ver 1.69E) from here:
