BTW, floppies are not the only way to transfer files. You could....
1) Attach an internal or external CD-ROM drive and copy files from a burned CD

I wonder why I didn't thought about that option.. sounds like the obvious choice.

Given the big difference between a 286/386 CPU and a Pentium one...

Is a Pentium based PC98 too fast to run classic PC98 software?, or are the games usually synchronized with video refresh?

Yes, I have problems running some games in my PC-9821 Cereb. Some games run too fast or have graphic problems or sound problems. Other games simply don't work at all. For all those games I have to use my PC-9801 DS (in which some games are too slow, so I have to use them in the PC-9821 unless they run too fast in the PC-9821, so I can't play them in none of the two systems ^^U). Yeah, you are never 100% sure which is the best computer and the best bios configuration for running a particular game, so you need to be testing all the time.

Thanks for the info!. I suposse that a slow Pentium would be a good compromise between old and new software. Maybe if a Pentium with a higher core can be underclocked, I can always add a switch to control the speed.
The graphic glitches must be unavoidable :(

i think the best would be a pc-9801FA. you have a switch to change the cpu mode.
1. 486 16mhz, recent games
2. 386 16 or 20 mhz, i dont really remember the frequency. for middle game
3. V30 8mhz, for older games.

same thing for pc-9801FS.
1. 386 20mhz
2. 386 16mhz
3. v30 8mhz

and pc-9801FX
1. 386 12mhz
2. 386 10mhz
3. v30 8mhz

I don't know why but when i change the frequency, at the boot the computer beeps at the begining and nothing happening with a error message that something like memory problem. So it seems to come from my memory, when i switch back to the 486, everything is ok.
