Sorry for requesting them all, but it's such a hard to find material. Please take all the time you need, what you uploaded for Danjuro is already great !

Thanks a lot.

I'd love to get the whole lot in one place too, if anyone wants to take the time to upload them.

I have a bunch of PC-98 manuals I could scan if anyone needs them - mostly Falcom RPGs and some strategy titles.

Could you list what you have? If you have something that's never been scanned, that would be great.

Thanks for the uploads morethanlikely.

Just out of curiousity, are there any PC88 manuals on the p2p networks? Only ones I got are from peter_j's pack.

Imperial Force
Great Commander strategic confrontation III
F-15 Strike Eagle II
Schwarzschild II
Schwarzschild III
Dinosaur
Wanderers from Ys
Ancient Ys vanished II the final chapter
Hydlide 3 Special version
Sim City
Drakkhen
Populous

Fairly common games, but some of the Falcom art is beautiful. If there are any requests get them in quick - I'm moving in 3 days times so won't be able to use my house mate's scanner after that - I don't have one of my own.

YES, by all means scan all Falcom stuff pretty please. If you happen to have some more spare time, why not doing them all? It would be a great contribution to the community!

Oli_lar, that's great! :D Most of your stuff has never been scanned!
I know it's a lot of work, especially if you're moving, but if you could scan even 1 or 2 manuals, I'd really appreciate it.

Imperial Force - Please scan!
F-15 Strike Eagle II - Please scan!
Schwarzschild II - Please scan!
Schwarzschild III - Please scan!
Hydlide 3 Special version - Please scan!

Wanderers from Ys
Ancient Ys vanished II the final chapter
- These 2 have been scanned elsewhere, but I don't have copies yet. Please scan if you have time.

Populous - I have Populous Promised Lands, but not the original.

Great Commander strategic confrontation III - This is Daisenryaku III, right? Please scan if it's the regular manual. I have manuals for the following:

大戦略III マップデータ集 赤の逆襲編 Daisenryaku III Map Data Shuu Aka no Gyakusyuu Hen
大戦略III'90 プレイヤーズパック Vol1 Daisenryaku III '90 Players Pack Vol.1
大戦略III'90 最新データ集 Daisenryaku III '90 Saishin Data Shu
大戦略IIIパワーアップキット Daisenryaku III Power Up Kit

I've just got back from work so I'll attempt to get through as much as possible this afternoon as I can ( the England match is on in a couple of hours so don't expect everything to be done though!). Plus having a look some of the manuals are very thick - 100 pages plus in F-15's case - also Ancient Ys vanished's manual is a hard back book, so I may struggle there.

If I scan these would it be possible for someone to edit/stitch images together where need be? I'd do it myself, but going to be rather busy for a couple of weeks - plus I have little experience in the area, so don't want to muck stuff up.

I'll also scan covers, floppy slips catalogs/adverts that are in the boxes too just for completion's sake. Might be a daft question, but the scanner won't damage the floppy disks will it? (So I can scan the labels on them).

Edit:

I've played around a little now and I'm going with 200dpi, JPEG (Print Image matching II) as it seems to offer the best quality/time/file size ratio. Here is an example:

Let me know if you want better etc, I'll try my best to accommodate but this scanner is pretty slow.

The scanner is just a big bright light - you won't damage your floppies.

If you can just scan the images, I or somebody else can do the cropping and editing, so don't worry about that. 200dpi should be fine.

Thank you! :)

Haha yes thought as much, can never be too careful though!

Here is the set of images for Imperial Force: http://sharebee.com/7cf36a06

I scanned everything including the cover, floppies etc.

I won't get time to do every game I don't think - I only have tomorrow to pack now. I'll attempt to get through as much as I can tonight though. Am doing Dinosaur now, will alternate between the Falcom stuff and Kobushi's list one at a time.

Edit: Here is Dinosaur now too. Sadly you can't see the lovely gold metallic lettering and embossed writing on parts of it, and the scanner was too small to accommodate the cover, but there is plenty of good art in it.

Also done Hydlide 3 Special Version now:

Here is the last one for now, Wanderers from Ys. Such a nice set this - picture frame & cards, mouse mate, hard back manual etc. I'd everything in the box, catalogs etc.

I divided the manuals I downloaded into 19 packs and uploaded them at another place.
But they are not sorted very well, and all of their names are written in Japanese.

I'm sure you should wait for kobushi's work.
He's making a big set of manuals (including all manuals I have),
in which all the files must be well-sorted and renamed in non-Japanese.
In near future kobushi will share more huge, useful and fantastic stuff here.

But for the people who's interested in my uploads,
I show the URLs below:

Again, thanks for the upload turboZII. Truly great stuff.

Kobushi, you seem to be really busy recently  Is this all going to be part of the PC98 database?

Thanks for the scans Oli_lar, and thanks for the kind words turboZII :)

I'm about halfway done with the manual pack. I've had a few problems with corrupt files, but most stuff is OK. I'll upload everything as soon as I'm done.

As for the PC98 database, I'm using the manuals to double-check game titles and companies. The manuals are a great resource. I'm also marking which games have manuals so we can add links later.
