I use the KbMediaPlayer with the m_s98.kpi plugin (by Mamiya) to listen S98 sound files.

But being a PC-98 website, these forums have fans of the system who would probably love such a Foobar2000 plugin..

No, no, you got it all wrong! The official Tokugawa Corp. retro-pc player is Hoot! Heheh :)

No, really, I guess nobody coded anything because it's like reinventing the wheel. Since Hoot was created, all eastern retro-pc music needs were satisfied, thereof the people who had free time (and knowledge) would rather spend their time coding something more useful (or better that something already existant, in this case beating Hoot would be inhuman I guess..)

Hoot, also, is being updated every few months. Add to the equation the hard work of Knurek (the gentleman who updates the XML files and uploads the sound files) and you have a very nice result.

I'm quite new to hoot music player. I'm having difficulties playing music from PAI files, as well as from PC-98 games. Any ideas?
