So I've come into the possession of an old game collection in FCD format. Which would generally be no big deal, 'cept that they used "FCD V1.0" which the most common converter (I2Win, commonly known as FCD-Converter) says it (and can't) handle.

No such luck with IsoBuster, MagicIso, or even the modern version of Virtual CD-Rom.

Can anyone think of a way to read such an image? Judging from the raw data, it's not compressed or encrypted...

First utility did the trick, now to sort through them and see if there's anything genuinely new...

Thanks!

It was several CD images of PC-98 game archives.

Is it a bunch of archives of alphabetized and untested games from someone in Brazil? I'm torrenting something like that right now and most of it has turned out to be ADV games.

Nah, it appears to be CD images from an actual PC98, given that they're just files, and only the image is compressed.

Sorting through them, found a few "new" games and a few I didn't have before. Not a bad haul these days, it's hard to find anything non-TOSEC.

NECROPOSTING!!

I have one FCD file that I cannot open with the utility from Vector, FCD to ISO converter, and the rapidshare link is down. If someone could re-upload the utility posted by al32gabby (or provide an alternative), I'd be grateful.

Thank you! It worked like a charm. This will save me many headaches should I run into FCD files again.

BTW, the file I was trying to convert is Wizardry Collection, which seems to be a bundle of Anex86 and Wizardry FDIs, all in one nice installer.
