(Creo I / Kaneko) Galpani

Action game like Qix of real pictures for adult.
(Some of this title are able to play with MAME, you know.)
Includes the CD image and boot FDI.

T-98 Next:
Not workable because of the error.
Image
It seems an emulation problem and impossible to evade maybe.

Anex86:
Workable, but impossible to play by the problem of the screen display.
Image
The cause is Anex86 doesn't support 640 x 480 mode.
(Disappearing the bottom area of just 80 pixels.)

I tried every settings of the tabs both Video and Window.
(Of course, also fullscreen, and anexx21.e86 has already been used.)
However, default setting was better as the result.

DOWNLOAD
PART.1
PART.2
PART.3
PART.4
Pass=Jokey Folks

I think this game is unplayable on the emulators of present version, and almost give it up. :(
But, please teach me if there's anyone who knows something good method...

You should have an option named "Use 640x400" on the Window tab. Make sure it is unchecked.

Thanks for your reply, Kaminari.
And sorry my explanation was not enough.

Yes, I tried and confirmed it.
Image

However, the black bar appears at the top and bottom area remaining the problem that the lower 80 pixels of the screen was cut.
Image
If the display works correctly, I think it's sure to be displayed more sideways long, flatter
to show 640 x 480 screen enough in 640 x 400 mode (or the black bar appears at side area both right and left).

Btw, I don't know about the real machine of Epson PC.
Did it actually support 640 x 480 mode or not?

This is a strange problem indeed. If I remember correctly, Battle Skin Panic 9821 runs in 640x480 and it was working fine on emulators when I tried it. I don't recall the display being cut off.

Please also test this if it's good. :D
The problem will be able to be confirmed clearly by comparing of this file.
This is a Doujin CG collection, and corresponds to both PC-9801 and PC-9821.

http://rapidshare.com/files/119814090/_ ... me.7z.html
(811KB)

If choiced "2" (PC-9821 mode) at booting, the screen is extended below (amount of 80 pixels) on T98-Next and NP21.
But on Anex86, the screen size doesn't change and displayed it flatter instead.
However, I think it's an enough display treatable by Anex86 because the bottom area is not cut.
So I thought Anex86 doesn't originally support 640 x 480 mode (perhaps the real machine of Epson PC, too).
And the real CD of Galpani might be only playable on the machine which supported 640 x 480 mode.

Anyway, it seems must expect for the emus to be updated or the new one released... :(

The standard resolution of the PC-9801 is not VGA (640x480x16 with a 18-bit palette) but a kind of extended EGA (640x400x16 with a 12-bit palette).

Jokey, I tried Supreme (PC-9821 mode) on Anex86, and the display switches correctly between pictures in 640x400 and pictures in 640x480. Which version of Anex are you using? Mine is 2.78 (with anexx21 video plugin).

Thanks Kaminari.:D I'm also using 2.78 both Anex86 and anexx21.e86.

I know the screen of Anex86 is able to be stretched like your picture by dragging with the mouse pointer
when "Fix aspect ratio" of Window tab is unchecked.
But my screen of Anex86 is not extended automatically like your's though I tried every settings. :(

Could you teach me your settings please?
(Mine is all default, and "Full color" of Window tab is only checked.)

Sorry zblack, I think it's not especially strange setting about CONFIG.SYS.
But I actually rewrote AUTOEXEC.BAT for using the mouse automatically.
And shamefully, I could find it works correctly when MOUSE.COM is not used though I don't know why... :oops:
Image
Please use this FDI for booting Galpani, and select not to use mouse.

Thank you Kaminari and zblack!

@zblack

I've forgot to say...
To use HMA (HIMEM.SYS etc.) on Anex86, you should check "Ext-RAM" of System tab like this.
Image
Is it checked?

My settings are almost identical to yours. I don't know what can be the problem...

I hope those screenshots can help you.

Isn't turning GDC clock to 5Mhz compulsory to get hi res 256 color working ?

@Kaminari

I carefully tried your setting. But the change was not especially seen...
It might have the cause by the video driver of my PC possibly.
(Mine is ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M.)
Anyway, thanks a lot for your kindness, Kaminari! :D

@Ben

When I tried the games which required 256 colors mode, it seems to be unchecked is better
though I don't know in detail about it.
And this is a link I referred (Japanese).

You are right, it must be for resolution over 640x400 I guess.
