Like my other thread for FM-Towns images here are some PC98 uploads. I've chosen some random and mostly well known games for now. Should I upload mainly adult adventure games, non-adult RPG/Simulation games, conversions from western games or the rather obscure smaller games?
Some feedback would be nice.
The archives usually contain both the original floppy disk images and a hard disk installed version.

Again the password for all my files is ashura5.

Note: If you have a question or want to talk about a particular game please open a separate thread.

Note concerning PC98 CD games emulation:
First of all you will need the right plugins for the emulators. "anecdxnt.e86" or "anecdx9x.e86" for Anex (depending on your Windows version) and "SCSI4CDN.NHW" or "SCSI4CD.NHW" for T-98 Next. You can usualy get them from the same site where you got the emulator. In the emulator settings make sure you assign your real or virtual CD drive to the emulator. For more information you can check my tutorial for making CD boot disks (found in the Staff Articles section on this site).

Important: The CD boot disks I usually include also contain the CD-ROM driver for the emulators. For Anex this is version dependant. The latest version for Anex is 2.78. The CD-ROM driver is also from that version. So if you are using a different version of Anex you'll need to replace "cdx.sys" on the boot disk with one of the same version as Anex.

T-98 Next only: The CD-ROM driver for T-98 Next requires that you specify the SCSI ID of the CD drive you assigned to the emulator.
I currently have a CD-RW drive, a DVD-RW drive and 3 virtual SCSI drives on my system and I usually use the second virtual drive for game images so SCSI ID 1 is the right value for me. ALL MY BOOT DISKS for T-98 NEXT ARE CONFIGURED WITH THIS VALUE. But depending on your setup it might be not the right value for you. If you get errors from "cdsd.sys" (the CD-ROM driver) you will have to manually edit the config.sys file and set it to the right value. To do so just extract "config.sys" from the T-98 Next boot disk with editdisk and open it with an editor like notepad. Leave everything as it is - you only need to edit 1 line:

device=cdsd.sys /d:_cd101 /i1

The "/i1" is the value you'll need to change. If you don't know the ID of your drive simply try different values. IDE drives should always be set to 0 BTW. Start with 0 and see if it works now. If not work your way up. 0,1,2 should cover most cases anyway. Once you've finished editing save the changes and put config.sys back onto the disk overwriting the old one.

More problems = more life to this forum :) This time it's Yesterday. I tried with T98Next - nothing, with Anex - nothing, with Neko - something! Intro plays great on all those emulators, but when it comes to game there is only darkness, except for Neko, when I get this not so good visual effects (only half screen is used):

Is there any hope for me?

Ooook, but how do I change bios? :) It's not just emulator option, you have to do something more?

I assume the GDC problems with Yesterday are solved?

1 big PC98 game today. Here it is:

Policenauts

No explanation needed i believe.
Please note that emulation is still far from perfect.
I will add a note concerning PC98 CD game emulation to the first post.
The archive contains the CD image, a HDI file and 2 boot disks for Anex and T-98 Next.
Make sure the emulator is configured correctly to access the CD drive.
Then put the CD into the drive, load the HDI file and boot with the right boot disk to start.

Btw: Why can I see this thread 3 times? Have there been 3 all the time or did the other 2 come up recently?
Looks like a double (tripple) post. Would be nice if the other 2 could be removed.

np2_help:

I don't know if JRK can read Japanese. ^^;

For the system setup menu you have to hold down the Help key right after NP2 starts or after a reset. The Help key is usually assigned to the End key unless you have a PC98 keyboard. If you can't find it assign a key for Help in the emu's configuration menu or use the software keyboard from the sys menu.
Once in the system setup menu go to DIP-SW 2 (the second option) and you should get the same screen as posted above. Change the GDC clock to 2.5MHz there.

I got this one yesterday.

Panzer General

Image

PC9821 conversion of the well known strategy game.
The DOS/V version is also on the CD.
Since it is mostly in English it should be playable without being able to read Japanese.

It is emulated in both, Anex and T-98 Next, but since Anex doesn't switch to 640x480 resolution you won't see the lower part of the screen. Use T-98 Next and set CPU speed to 33MHz+.
See 1st post for comment regarding emulators and CD games.

Anyone have Wordsworth or Crystal Rinal? JRK's RPGs has made those games out to be some of the best dungeon crawlers for the system. I also want to add Wordsworth to its PC remake archive.
