You really made it, congratulations and thanks again for all the effort you put in these sets, amazing work.

Regarding the doujin/freeware stuff I think it would be nice if you could at least tag the games in a way that's easy to detect what's commercial and what's not. Perhaps use a tag like (Unl) in the game's file or folder name (or (Homebrew), (Doujin), etc.), since you already put all the work into splitting commercial games from the rest I think it would be a waste not to make use of that information.
Or if you don't want to pollute the file/folder names maybe use different top level folders for Commercial, Doujin, Homebrew, etc.

First PC98 doujin update is now live.
https://mega.nz/#F!jIgkXQDY!hE3FQNWl77DkzKErGdz35g

This organization is not necessarily final, but for now the new stuff will be added to a [Doujin & Homebrew] folder.
This update includes most of the old Dante98 RPG Maker games. These are organized into folders according to where they originally appeared, such as the ASCII contests, the LOGiN Sofcom disk magazine, or the Internet Contest Park. For example, Corpse Party can be found in the Dai-2-kai ASCII Entertainment Software Contest folder.

Previously I reported about broken Beast 2 and Hoshi no Suna Monogatari 2 images, now I got the similar problem again. :? Beat Vice is actually on 4 floppies and asks you to insert 4th one (screenshot #1) when you complete 1st character's storyline. It's weird no one ever noticed this loss since the initial PC98 TOSEC was made. At the same time somehow all files on HDI are available, BUT the game freezes right before the last (?) mission (screenshot #2). Or perhaps Beat Vice indeed ends on such a cliffhanger and everything is how it should be... :?

Here's the savestate for NP21TH right after the boss, after that goes a cutscene that freezes the game

The original game box contains five floppy disks. Both in 5.2 inches and in 3.5 inch floppy diskettes.

It's strange that there are three diskettes on the game box.

In this blog, a person also has three floppy disks.

The Beat Vice package only contains 3 disks (Master disk, Disk 2, Disk 3). Disk 1 and 4 are created by the floppy install process.

Try this: https://www.mediafire.com/file/kkqbpev5 ... 20test.zip

I'm not sure why the HDI version is freezing on you, Eiesoldar. Maybe an emulation issue? BTW np2 save states are not really tradeable, because they break whenever the emulator configuration changes. Does the game crash in other emulators too?

Oh, thanks, that 5 floppy version works fine (using same emulator, NPTH, with the same config), just that last disk I needed. This time Beat Vice didn't freeze in abovementioned cutscene, so maybe I'll complete it now...

Strangely, I encountered breaking savestates only in FM Towns' Unz, but not in Neko Project (perhaps because it doesn't block HDI during the game like Anex does...).
Thought of using Anex, but it doesn't work good with Beat Vice, especially with its controls...

Update. 5 floppy version completed. Perhaps it's really smth wrong with HDI.

I'll upload (in-game) save, just in case. Load slot 3, then choose 2nd last option, complete the stage and watch tht scene that froze the game on my emulator.

Post subject:  Re: Neo Kobe collections available at Internet Archive

Thanks for verifying that the floppy disk version is completeable. The HDI was created from the same disks, so it should work in theory...

Actually the HDI freeze appears to be a bug in the game code. When you reach that cutscene, the game tries to access data on the B drive instead of the hard disk. If you insert Disk 4 while the cutscene is playing, it doesn't freeze.

I made another hdi with the disk4 data set to B: via subst. The cutscene doesn't freeze anymore, but I haven't verified the game all the way to the end. I also made a save in the last slot immediately after the cutscene.

Edit: modified hdi is confirmed to be beatable. In the next update, I will add the new hdi and the pre-made disks 1 and 4 from above to the set.

The stored file seems to be based on the image file I created from copy disk more than 10 years ago.
Upload the re-dumped thing from the product disk.
