I run a site where I try to preserve high quality scans of my collection. My main focus for now is Famicom Disk but I recently had an opportunity to buy a large lot of PC98 games so did so in order to preserve them as best I could. I've only had time to scan in a few titles so far but I have many (100+) more to go. Also I don't know Japanese so if someone could give me the translations of the titles I can properly label them :)

Feel free to copy and use the scans however you please. The more people that have them the easier they'll be preserved. I'm assuming these games have also already been dumped but if not let me know and I'll work on getting that done. Also all the games will be for sale if you want them for your collection. Once I have them scanned in I no longer need them as I just care about the preservation. These are all 300dpi JPEG files. But I also have 600dpi PNG if you're interested (Though they are MUCH larger in file size)

I look forward to contributing more in the future :)

These are wonderful scans, thanks for sharing them. I especially love the evolutionary/biological manual and disk labeling for Cybernetics Hi-School IV Ape Hunter J (/Game 5/). Will you be updating that same directory as you work on the scans?

Great quality and thanks for the manual scans, very useful for checking the credits.

Good work on this! I'll check back in once you've got more of these scanned. The PNG scans would be nice to have in a compressed file, but I think hosting just the JPGs is fine.

Glad you all are enjoying them. Yep the directory will continue to be updated as I get them finished. I'll try to post here as well after a big update.

Hi Hubz,

I can probably contribute to this a bit since I have also been collecting some PC-98 games over the last few years, especially ones that I would love to see English translations of. Great job with this initiative by the way.

For now I can contribute the manual and glossary of Brandish 2. I can always provide scans later if you like.

http://retro-type.com/brandish/br2/

The other PC-98 games that I have currently that are complete are:

Oerstedia
Magic ++
Slayers
Dragon Half
Xak: The Art of Visual Stage
Xak II: Rising of the Red Moon
Xak: Precious Package: The Tower of Gazzel
Xak III: The Eternal Recurrence
Fray In Magical Adventure
Tower of Cabin
Brandish
Brandish Renewal
Brandish 2
Brandish 3
Brandish 3 Renewal
Brandish VT
Popful Mail

If you are looking for PC-88 stuff as well, I have these so far:

Zeliard
Ys I
Ys II
Ys III
Popful Mail
XZR
XZR II

These will certainly take some time to scan all of these, but if there are specific ones that you might want to get first I can certainly try to start with those. Also, if you have the ability to clean up scans and align images correctly, this will make this a lot quicker for myself and others who may want to contribute to your project.

Thomas,

That would be great if you get time to scan any of those. I don't have any of those currently so they would all be of great use. I don't mind cleaning up scans either so if you want to just send raw scans that is fine with me. Just feel free to contribute whenever you feel like it :)

Thanks,

- Hubz

Small update, added Melty Lance along with it's soundtrack. If somebody can help me properly tag the FLAC's that would be great. Also uploaded the soundtrack for Virtuacall 2 which I could also use help on the tagging.

Sorry for the slowness on this, just finished scanning all my Famicom Disk stuff, Atari Lynx stuff, and now moving onto PC Engine before PC98.

videogameden.com is another good place to find box and book scans (for Famicom and PC Engine)

I'll put up my Famicom and PC Engine book scans on mediafire shortly and you can add them to your site. If you want to put up a section for Super Famicom I have several scans of those as well.

Hi all,

Sorry for the length since the last update. But finally gotten around to my PC98 stuff again and uploaded 6 more.

BakuDD and SkyeWelse did you ever get a chance to upload your stuff anywhere? I'd love to check it out!

Thanks,

- Hubz

I am putting up famicom and pc engine scans now but it will take a couple of days. I am looking across my hard drives for any remnants of the scans I saved over the years, most of them went down with megaupload but I still have some left over.

Heres a scan I did over the weekend. http://www.mediafire.com/download/o9wivkw82onhx1v

Hi Hubz! Not yet. I'm armed to the teeth right now on some current gaming projects, so it may be awhile before I can sit down and do these scans, but I will try to do this sometime this year!
