Does anyone know how graphics such as images being drawn onto the screen by pixelating and screens fading are programmed in PC-98 games?
Are there any known libraries which were used by developers?

I know some of these drawing tools, but they are used for creating the art. What I'm looking for are actual libraries used by compilers when writing a program in C or C++. For example, now we have SDL for graphics, but was there a PC-98 graphics library equivalent? I'm guessing it was something which existed for windows systems as well at the time. I'm not a programmer (yet), but I'd like to get an idea of what development was like on the PC-98 since there are a bunch of common effects used by games.
