I got this (still-sealed) copy of ASCII Funny, which looks like a nice drawing program. I cannot get the main program to run. I had to rework the disk dumps as they are of the one track 128 byte sectors, rest 256 byte sectors type. I have put up three versions of the rework, but am pretty sure all are OK and correct. The program seems to be in BASIC and might require specific versions of N88 Basic to run, or specific machine BASIC roms. The box came with 3 disks, the first two copies of each other ( verified in hex editor ).

The program boots in Neko, but restarts the machine if you choose the first option - main program.

If anyone can make this work, I would be most grateful.

Thanks.

i think this "game" maybe has 3 disk:

1 disk a (system disk)
2 disk B (data disk)
3 disk c (user disk)

my Experience tell me:maybe maybe

Thank you very much for your efforts. :)

To clarify:
- the pack I got was sealed, new
- it had 3 disks - the first 2 copies of each other, I have verified this
- the actual dumps were good off the Kryoflux - any errors would be in reformatting and combining the Kryoflux dumps, by me

I agree that there needs to be another disk. I think you have to make this "user disk" yourself judging from the screenshots of yours. Trying to make this disk fails with an i-o error.

However!! Using an OLD copy of V98 from 1999, this formatting process ran correctly with NO i-o error. It makes a very funny .FDD disk! Putting the program disk in drive 1 and this user disk in drive 2 does boot Funny to the menu screen.

Sadly Funny still does not run.

I'll put this user disk up later ( I am working today ). I'll also try a newer V98 ( is this the same emulator as the old one? ) - anyway, can't test now.

You have set me off on a good track - thanks!

B disk has some Graph file, you can load it and edit it.

if you want show "region" graphic, not all show, you can use (x,y) Control

i surmise,this program is:

edit Graph ---> save in user disk ----> print

all people can know:choose the first option,no response

i conjecture(surmise),this option = "start Print" (or send picture file to another PC98/PC88)
but no print device,so no response

i just use this program look picture,oh,hahaha
