Post subject:  Shūjin e no Peret-em-Heru Translation Project

Hello,
I have recently started work on translating the RPG Maker Dante98-II game Shūjin e no Peret-em-Heru and have run into a bit of a snag.
I am currently translating and modifying the text in the game via HEX editor and while this does work on a basic level, I have found that I am unable to modify the actual text length, so if I actually wanted to expand or shorten lines, I cannot. This will certainly be crippling later. I have tried to jerry-rig the earlier http://fullmotionvideo.free.fr/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1135 Corpse Party + RPG Maker pack into working on Peret-em-Heru, but it just doesn't want to work together. (Almost certainly because one is RPG Maker Dante98 and one is RPG Maker Dante98-II)

If someone had the knowledge on how to make a similar package to the one for Corpse Party, that would help us out a lot.

Thanks!

I don't know the .MAP file format.
But If you use dante98 Ⅱ,It's easy to edit the texts.
It takes additional work..

Well, you were able to tell me the password. Without it, I wouldn't be able to download the game. =P

I have not played this game, and never used Dante98 series before.
Even I can't get any clue or hint of mapdata file format over the web.
But I tried to analyze it somehow.
I don't make sure the program runs well.I made it in a day.
Please let me know any bug or error If you find it.

I think ATLAS V14 or Google translation, Excite ..and so on..
These translating program are mostly useless...
...have no choice but to depend on the human hand.
Plz go easy and slowly.
..
.
If I had not got a pm from Peter_J,
this tool would not been released,We have to thank Peter first and best!

Of course! I am just letting those curious know that my friend and I are going to be working on this game alongside our other translation project. We hope to get Shūjin e no Pert-em-Hru translated in a couple of months.

Hello, this is ZeikTheGeek, the translator of Memories of Fear who is working along with enigmaopoeia to translate Pert em Hru.

We have come across one problem thus far with the RPG Maker Dante II script editor. When we come to edit the game and we need to insert a new line of text in order to properly fit the translated text, the Text Editor has no problem doing that for us. However, in the game, it makes the game act weirdly. (For example, when I edit the Tutorial map, the door to the house doesn't appear at all.)

We've also ran into a few other roadblocks, one we've found is in the RPG Maker EBD image format. We've found a tool to convert it to a common image format, but it does not seem to employ the reverse process of putting it back into an EBD after modification, so we're trying to figure out how to get it back into the game in its translated form.

Lastly, we've found that D2Win is the best program to run the game in, however, it seems to act as its own RPG.EXE file, rendering any changes we make to the runtime invalid. As a fair amount of text is within the runtime that needs to be translated, this puts us between a rock and a hard place. Do we use D2Win, leaving behind a fair bit of Japanese artifacts within the game yet having accurate sound and music? Or do we use Neko Project (the 2nd best option we've found) and run the game with a considerable amount of sound and music glitches and inconsistencies (but all the Japanese artifacts are gone)?
If we could find a way to get D2Win's text translated, that'd be optimal, but it's not as simple as the plaintext RPG.EXE of Dante II.

Taking a guess, it sounds more like a limitation of the game interpreter program or parameters in Dante than of the editor. Not that I have ever used Dante.

Thank you for the update, delicious. Unfortunately, it seems that the latest Text Editor is crashing on me a lot. D= However, since I am able to manually insert text into the Shuujin AND dante98_2.hdi using the RPG Maker Dante 98 II program within, the project is going much more smoothly! We have already translated the entire opening until you got control of the protagonist thus far.

Our only issue now is to translate the graphics, since we can't figure out how to properly edit EBD files.
