So today I decided to go inside of my PC98 machine. I was just wondering what it looked like inside. I found the following intresting.
1. There is an A:/ drive connector, and a space towards the back above the I/O slot that looks like it could be modified. Maybe a person could carve out the case and install a 3.5 Drive that would be inserted through the back, above the card. Maybe just to ring around the cable through the I/O slot. So you maybe a person could use a Microsoft floppy if they wanted to????? I have not tested this yet, because I still need a proper display device for my machine.
An alternative to the external floppy drive???
2. At the bottom, below the I/O slot, on the motherboard their looks like a card adapter of some sort. I was not too amazed to find this out, because we all know that NEC tapped the portable technologies back then. I wonder what it was used for.
3. The twin 5.2 Floppy drives are both made by TAEL assembled in USA ???? I see TAEL or is it TEAL in big works on the back of the drives.
4. I also spotted a NEC chip going upwards from the card adapter.
..........
That is it for now, as I was hoping to spot the motorolla proccessor akin to the SEGA Mega drive.
