First kana word is "insert". Maybe it's asking to insert a DOS formatted disk to make the user disk?

EDIT: My limited knowledge of Japanese has proven to be more misleading than helpful :(

Several older Falcom games only support DOS 3. You could try to fake it with setver, but that doesn't always work and might create problems. You should install DOS 3, or simply run the game off the floppies without installing.

Yes, it's incompatible with DOS 6.2.
*Boot* from the floppies.

It is probably the old DOS problem of fitting what it loads into the first 640k of RAM. What you might try is shunting anything loaded in the autoexec.bat and config.sys into the area between 640k and 1m. DOS has a tool to do this - memmaker, which I presume is included in a full DOS 6.2 install on PC98 like on PC-AT.

Normally you don't need to set any memmaker switches.

Just guessing though.

I'm sorry,I mistook it for the short of memory.
plz type the command "RYUINST" not "INSTALL", when you install this game.

I made dragoon.hdi from floppy disks.
it runs normally with anex86 or t98-next.

ok thanks for the follow up and the .hdi. I did the command "RYUINST" then i choose the HDD to install it. i put all the 9 disk when it ask. Then like you can see on my last picture i uploaded,
It ask me for something else so i type Y for yes then it ask me for something else. I thought at first it was the first disk, but it is not. Then i create a User disk and try again but it still don't work.
Is it still posible to let me know what the program want?

thanks

Do you create a boot disk?[y/n]
Insert a blank formatted disk into drive 'B' and type the enter key.
-----

It's just a boot disk,not a user disk.
That hdi file can launch this game normally without a boot disk.

If you have a boot disk,
you don't have to type the command "dragoon" manually on the directory "C:\DRAGOON".
That's the only reason.

-boot disk-
